Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
We store account details (name, email, optional phone number), learning activity (progress per concept, question responses, learning style), and usage data (AI generation counts, code runs) needed to provide and measure the service. When you sign up we also keep how you first reached us: the campaign tags in the link you followed, the website that sent you (its name only) and the first page you opened, without the rest of the address. It only tells us which channels bring students, and is not shared with anyone.
2. How we use it
This data is used to personalize lessons, compute per-concept mastery, enforce plan quotas, and improve teaching quality.
3. Third parties
Payments are processed by Zarinpal; Smartta never stores your card details. Lesson and answer generation is performed by a third-party language-model provider, which only receives the text needed to fulfil that specific request.
4. Data retention
Account and learning-activity data is kept for as long as the account is active. On account deletion, personal data is deleted or anonymized per our internal process.
5. Your rights
You can view and edit your account details from the Profile page, and contact support to request full account deletion.
6. Student and parent accounts
For younger students, a parent may link to the student's account via an invite code to view progress and purchase plans on their behalf; this link only activates once the invite code is accepted.
7. Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and communication with the server is encrypted in transit.
8. School-linked accounts
If a student joins a class with a class code (or their school adds them to one), that class's teacher can see: their progress through that subject's concepts, when they were last active, their total XP and streak, and which concepts they are stuck on. The teacher cannot see personal homework text, conversations with the AI tutor, payment details, or messages. No ranked list of students is produced or shown to anyone. The student is shown this exact list before joining and cannot be joined without confirming it; if a school adds a student directly, the student is notified and the action is recorded in our administrative audit log. A student can leave a class at any time, which stops visibility from that moment on — reports already delivered to the teacher are not retracted. A teacher's access ends when the class is archived or when they leave the school, although the academic record remains with the school. Many of our users are under 18; the same limits apply to linked parents.

This policy may be updated over time. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
